Introduction #
As part of becoming registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) – It is of vital importance that K4 Medical Services remains within its scope of regulation. K4 Medical Services has applied to be registered in the following regulated activities.
- Treatment of disease, disorder and injury.
- Transport services, triage and medical advice provided remotely.
Scope #
This policy will set out how K4 Medical Services and receives bookings direct from healthcare providers for transportation from one location to anther. In addition, whether the patient is eligible under our scope of regulation.
Patient Eligibility #
In order for a healthcare provider to make a booking for the use if K4 Medical Services, they will need to contact us on number or the dedicated email inquiry address or filling in our online form.

At this present time and until company growth – this responsibility will stay with the Operations Manager, who on receiving such an inquiry the Operations Manager will go through the section 1 of the K4 Medical Services Patient Eligibility v1 check sheet (Appendix 1) to determine if the patient from the receiving inquiry meets the K4 Medical Services scope of regulated activity.
Availability Planning & Booking #
In addition to the Patient eligibility criteria. Any inquiry will also have to pass the K4 Medical Services Availability questions from section 2 of the Patient Eligibility check sheet v1. This is to ensure that not just the patient meets our regulated scope of practice, but also whether K4 Medical Services has the suitable clinical grade, suitable resource and appropriate kit to safely and effectively manage the patient whilst in K4 Medical Services care. Should the patient inquiry pass through both the eligibility & availability questions. K4 Medical Services will accept the booking with the minimal data required (in-line with our GDPR policy) to correctly ensure the right patient is collected, at the right time and taken to the right destination – this will be signed off by Operations Manager as previously mentioned
